About Us
StingRay Diver Training is owned and operated by Ray LeFrense. Ray was first certified as a scuba diver in 1994 and as a scuba instructor with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) in 1999. In 2009, Ray achieved Instructor status with Global Underwater Explorers (GUE) and is very excited about promoting their curriculum.
With over 10 years of professional dive industry experience, Ray has worked as a dive store manager in Canada, as a diving instructor in Australia, and is an avid technical diver and cave diver whose passion for diving has taken him around the globe. His aquatic adventures have taken him under thick ice in the Canadian Arctic, into the bellies of the many shipwrecks of the Artificial Reef Society of British Columbia, and through the eternal darkness of maze-like caves in Florida and Mexico. He’s also been to the South China Sea where he descended through water and time to explorer the WWII wreck of the HMS Repulse, and has drifted over the vast magnificence and color that is the Great Barrier Reef of Australia.
